The Olympia based indie label K Records (Beat Happenning, Karp, Fitz of Depression) has agreed to carry The Georgetown Orbits record for their mailorder catalog. After tomorrow you will be able to find it at krecs.com or kpunk.com

The Georgetown Orbits seem to be chugging along, recently gracing the stage of the Seattle Weekly Music Awards.

More promo's have gone out recently so be sure to check out your favorite punk magazines (MRR, Punk Planet, Etc) for reviews on the Orbits first single.

In related news The Orbits have been getting some air play on WNYU's Tunnel One, and recently recieved props from members of the scortchers and slackers.

you can purchase your own copy of the debut single at the following web-locations:

www.interpunk.com
www.rockandoi.com
www.brutusrecords.net
www.krecs.com
www.kpunk.com
and always at
deadendsocialclub.cjb.net

we have more promo's going out this month to local radio stations, and we will post a list when we have sent them out, so you can request the tunes on the radio. Also we are in some more finite negotiations with our retail distributor(s) so stay tuned.

IN OTHER NEWS

ok, all you cheese-state ska kids! listen the hell up!

i started this community several years ago, with the basic knowledge that it wouldn't get a lot of action. and true to that idea, it hasn't. there are maybe three or four updates a year. and two of those are about Skappleton (which doesn't look too inticing this year). and truth be told, my musicall tastes of widened some, and ska isn't the only thing i listen to anymore. plus, i'm broke a lot so my capacity to care about shows is somewhat diminished.

but anyways, this might just be the single most important update ever made in this community! if you live ANYWHERE in the state of WISCONSIN and you like SKA, you should be going to the following show...

Sunday, June 4th
THE ENGLISH BEAT!
with The Invaders
The Miramar Theatre

2844 N. Oakland Ave in beautiful Milwaukee
all ages, drinks with ID.

so, yeah...you should all go to this. basically, because The English Beat are one of the forrunners of modern ska. and all the silly thirdwave kids are running around listening to Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake and not knowing their roots! also, locally, The Invaders are pretty much the reason to have a Wisconsin based ska community. forget IV4K (seriously) and even Something To Do (even though they are pretty good), the Indvaders are the best ska band to come out of this state, hands down.*

love,
The Mod.

* note, i myself am basically a thirdwaver. and i love both Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake. Less Than Jake has a new EP out and a full length soon. if you never have, when they tour next, go see them. they put on a killer live show. also, i apologize for knocking Skappelton. its just that the last time there was a good line up was like three years ago! and regarding the Invaders bit...check out The Fallout (members of the Invaders), they are awesome! and i fully stand by my remark regarding IV4K, i don't care what anyone says, that band sucks now.

You know it's funny. In Germany a cheese head is someone from Holland. We call them Käse Kopfen. They call themselves Kas Kopjes or something like that. It doesn't matter because Dutch sounds like Vomiting. But they have a very good scene...when they sing in Engrish. Ö

News from abroad my Northern Friends.

Munich's beNUTS have a new EP coming. It's called Fistful of Offbeat. 3 tracks just went up on our myspace page. Ska lives on strong in Germany. Please check them out and leave some feedback.

    Thanks

Hey there, my band just recorded our first single and i want to know what people think.
We're probably going to re-record it because all the levels are messed up and none of us like how it turned out.

So I like how it seems like not a lot of people update anymore.
    :(

On the plus side, Skappleton is May 14th, I believe.
And I expect to see all y'all asses there.
    :)
    That is, if I'm going.
Which I damn well better be.

    Lataz, yo.
Right now I'm sitting in the theatre, on the theatre director's computer while we're performing a show.
    A Chorus Line.
    I'm so sick of it.

    Bye bye everybodyyyy.
